The Rector should be involved from the get go and at every level, including making requests of people.  His/her example of giving is also critical if you are going to get the Vestry and Stewardship Commission board for a serious consideration of the subject.

Stewardship Education

The Word of God is written in the Bible and provides a foundation for teaching stewardship. The study of Scripture, basic stewardship principles and practices are the starting point for all ages to become good stewards and teach others.

What is Stewardship?
“Follow Me,” Jesus simply but powerfully commanded of the Apostles and they did. That call is made to us as well on this day and in this time. How do we follow Jesus? We try to live our lives as he did – the example of the perfect steward. Stewardship is discipleship. It is the care and use of all that we have been given by God and is often explained in terms of talent, treasure and time. Why?
