…11 Commitments for my congregation….

1. Make decision and send a check or enroll on line for $25 per person after reading brochure. Plus complete registration form and begin enrolling key leaders to attend DuBose Conference, May 12-14


2. Enroll key laity to attend May 12-14 Leadership Conference. Ask all potential attendees in my congregation to complete “Strength Finders”. Also, clergy complete “Gallup Inventory for Missioners in Redevelopment” (see your Canon to the Ordinary)

3. January 2011: Share with vestry or leadership team my (our) commitment to enhance my leadership skills and seek methods to increase church vitality.

4. Coordinate with key leaders within the congregation to plan a Lenten theme or emphasis for the congregation which enhances for Christian Formation and congregational vitality.

5. January 2011: Read one recommended book * List several concepts from the book I may teach and implement within the congregation.

6. January 2011: Complete enrollment of 2-3 key laity to attend Leadership Conference, May 12-14

7. February 2011: Read a second recommended book * Live into the behaviors that strengthen your relationship with Christ Jesus.

8. March 2011: Explore with clergy the potential of forming a clergy peer (Ecumenical or Episcopal) support for “Sustaining Excellence in Ministry” (see Seabury Seminary Webpage)

9. April 2011: Assess your congregation by asking everyone to write in 150 words “In the past year, what are my best experiences in my congregation?” Bring a summary to the Conference.

Additional pre-conference work: Complete 12 Behaviors of a Healthy Church (Diocese of TX)

10. May 12-14: Attend Dubose Leadership Conference well prepared

11. May 15-21: Begin writing My Ministry Plan & Parish Ministry Plan: Commit to life long learning in congregational development and church vitality.
